Debuted in 1968, the Rolex Cellini series has housed the brand’s formal watches that aren't Oyster models. The collection was titled after Benvenuto Cellini, an artist from Florence known for crafting remarkable works during the Renaissance era, which remain admired and explored even today.

Initial Cellini watches were slender gold formal timepieces with manual-wind mechanisms.

The term "Oyster" in certain Rolex models signifies their water-resistant cases. In contrast, Cellini watches lacked Oyster cases and weren't designed with water protection in mind.

The dials of the Rolex Cellini Date showcase a classic guilloché technique, resulting in lines radiating from the center to the edges. The Caliber 3165 automatic movement powers the Cellini Date.
